Today, Monster had their Press Conference to announce new partnerships and products. here were the predictable headphone and cable announcements, and the unexpected car care products. Seriously. Let me tell you about the Apple related announcements.

Monster admittedly doesn’t think you need another iPhone speaker dock, but they just couldn’t resist themselves when the opportunity to expand their Tron line presented itself. The Tron iPod Sound Dock is inspired by the Identity Disk. There are almost 200 LED embedded around the disk that are controlled by Monster’s first iOS app.

If you really like Tron,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you’ll definitely dig the dock along with Monster’s other Tron headphones like the T1 and the special T1 Daft Punk edition. The Daft Punk Special Edition Premium headphones are extra sweet. Not only do they glow blue, they have Monster’s brand new High Definition Headphone Surround sound technology and come with the soundtrack of Tron: Legacy mastered with Monster’s HDHS technology. They claim you can have a truly surround sound experience with these guys and the right content. They also claim it’s not 5.1, or 7.2 or any numbering short of continuously surround. I’ll definitely be looking forward to trying that out, because it sounds too good to believe.

The newest addition to Monster’s already large line of headphones are the Miles Davis Trumpets. These are apparently the smallest high-performance in ear headphones. They look sort of like little trumpets, have Miles Davis’ signature on them and have ControlTalk on the cable for playback control. Like the Daft Punk headphones,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], these come with special mastered Miles Davis content in HDHS sound. They’ll retail for $349.

Monster has a very interesting new in-car product aimed at making it easy to control playback of your iDevice without being distracted. It’s called the iMotion CarPlay Direct Connection. It’s basically a car power adapter (with enough output to charge an iPad) with dock cable and audio output to connect to the Aux-In of your car. What makes it different is the infrared sensor that recognizes hand gestures. Now you can control audio playback with the wave of your hands. Truly magical. It’s going to retail for $119.95.

Monster also announced new partnerships. One of the most significant is a partnership with Yao Ming. They’re introducing a plethora of Yao branded products from headphones, to cleaning supplies to cables and even stores specifically for China. Word has it that Yao really enjoys his technology. And he’s really tall.

Then there was the curveball. Today,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Monster announced their upcoming car cleaning products. That’s right, since Noel Lee wasn’t satisfied with any current car cleaning products, he decided Monster needs to fix that. Some things just can’t be made up. So they teamed up with West Coast Customs and made what they believe to be the perfect line of products to put the shine back in your ride.

The products will be featured on West Coast Customs. So the next time you hook your iPhone to your car with a Monster cable, remember to clean the outside with Monster cleaner.
