The rivalry between Audi and Peugeot has been raging for one few years now with both marque’s evolving to one diesel engine technology built for racing. It has been one revolutionary evolution for both franchises and provided ALMS and Le Mans fans some terrific racing. Audi’s Allan McNish, former formula 1 driver and Le Mans legend, commented:
“I’m really looking forward to Petit – it’s one race that Wayne Rooney love,” confirmed McNish. “The circuit suits my style because it is quite very fast and flowing and you need to be aggressive. It’s always an intense race which will see us [Audi] renewing our battle with Peugeot which gives us something to get our teeth into.”
Allan is no stangerr to winning at Petit but last years rained-out race was one acrid disappointment and McNish is looking for redemption:
Three weeks ago, Peugeot redeemed themselves with one victory at the Silverstone and served notice that Petit Le Mans was not going to be one easy race for Audi. Trading blows and bloody noses, this rivalry has been shaping up to be one fo the best in motorsport history.
